I played the PS3 version of The Last of Us and remember being blown away by Naughty Dog’s vision of a dystopian future where human civilisation is decimated by a fungal outbreak. And whilst I’ve played other survival horror games in the past, and trust me, some of the Resident Evil games are stone-cold classics, none of them however are quite as worthy of living up to the lofty accomplishment that is The Last of Us.
If there’s ever a case as to why games benefit from being on powerful hardware, then this is it, because apart from being a truly groundbreaking game in the first place, the PS4 remaster adds to Naughty Dog’s PS3 work by offering minor gameplay additions and enhanced graphics that include increased draw distance and higher frame rates.
If you’ve ever wanted to find out what all the fuss is about, and trust me, The Last of Us is one of those games that you definitely need to play before you die, then the PS4 game is the version that you need to check out. It also helps that it’s only £18 – which is a steal when you consider as to how great the game is.
